The answer is not Ghostbusters! The other answer that it isn’t is Ngage – our new management company.
That answer may confuse you. In the past, if a member had a question, the first thing they did was email or call Ashley, Betsey or Amanda. They were always happy to help, and we got the answers we needed. However, when we were working on the decision to change management companies, we realized that every minute that staff spent on answering questions took time away from the tasks and goals that the Board of Directors had set for our association. We also realized that most of the questions that were asked were things that could be answered by a member of the leadership team.
Today, the answer to the question is for you to reach out to one of the capable leaders in our organization. If you are a member of a local, ask your president. If you are in a state with a council, your council director is a good place to start. If they don’t know the answer, they will either refer you to your regional vice president or reach out themselves. If you have a question, it is likely that other members do as well! If the RVP doesn’t know the answer, they will ask the executive committee. There are times that we will need to get Ngage involved but that should be our last step. We want them to focus on the goals that the Board of Directors has tasked them with. That includes increasing our membership, keeping our new website up to date, working with the task forces and more! The more time staff members can work on those items, the more we will accomplish. In addition, Ngage doesn’t yet have the institutional knowledge that our prior management company had after years of working with us. The staff will likely have to reach out to a member of the leadership team to get an answer which will delay your answer even longer and take up even more of their time.
