The 85th Annual IAIP National Convention brought 133 Insurance Professionals from across the country to The Hilton-Main in Norfolk, Virginia for three days of connection, education, leadership, and celebration. This milestone gathering honored IAIP’s legacy while embracing innovation and the future of the insurance profession.

Regional Connection & Opening Activities

Before the national programming began, Regions I, II, V, VI, and VII hosted their HUB Regional Day, followed by regional dinners at local venues near the convention hotel. These events set a collaborative tone and strengthened relationships among members and leaders.

Day One: Competition, Inspiration & Community

CWC Speak-Off

Sponsored by Johnson & Johnson, the convention opened with the CWC Speak-Off, where four outstanding contestants delivered compelling presentations. Linda Greylessearned top honors as the 2026 Speak-Off Winner.

Keynote Address: Patrick Henry

Keynote Speaker Patrick Henry—a former Nashville songwriter—delivered an engaging program blending storytelling, humor, and original music. His custom-written IAIP song captured the spirit of the insurance profession and the IAIP community. Even an unexpected fire alarm evacuation couldn’t disrupt his energy or connection with the audience.

Ignite Luncheon: AI in Insurance

The Ignite Luncheon featured three dynamic speakers offering diverse perspectives on the evolving role of artificial intelligence in the insurance industry, sparking thoughtful discussion and curiosity.

Education & Engagement

Members participated in the Community Café or attended the ACR course: Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, continuing IAIP’s commitment to professional development.

“Making Waves” Welcome Party

The evening concluded with the nautical-themed Welcome Party, where members connected with sponsors, enjoyed raffles and games, and raised funds for the Legacy Foundation and the convention charity, Lasagna Love.

Day Two: Learning, Leadership & Recognition

The second day began with Breakfast with Sponsors, followed by additional education including the CLP-A course: Balancing Priorities and more Community Café sessions.

Before the Awards Luncheon, the Executive Committee hosted an open Q&A session, offering transparency, dialogue, and direct engagement with IAIP leadership.
