A letter from Honolulu Association of Insurance Professionals

Aloha IAIP members,

Thank you all for reaching out with your love and concern for our island home. Maui is a very special place for many of us, and our VP/President-Elect Tracy Adams calls Maui home. Tracy is asking for financial donations to help fund the future for families and businesses affected by the loss.

At this time, approximately two-thirds of the population did not evacuate and are without power, mail and communication. Tracy’s neighborhood has 70 displaced Lahaina residents living in a cul-de-sac (about 10 extra people per house). There is a huge need for this community and although the American Red Cross is staffing emergency shelters at Lahaina Civic Center and in Pukalani at Hannibal Tavares Community Center, we can all make a difference.

The people of Maui will need our help in the days to come. Here is how you can help now:

If you are able to help our friends and family on Maui, please do so, and please email me so I can thank you (as well as keep track of IAIP members who have contributed to this effort).

Sincerely,

Jodi Keliinoi Smith
